You know what is awesome about accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior and receiving salvation is the newness of it!! 2 Corinthians 5:17 says If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, old things are passed away; behold all things have become new!! What I love about this scripture other than obviously all of it is one word "Behold" in this scripture and in the NIV version it says Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! The reason I love the word behold because the definition of it literally means to observe something remarkable. Like when observing a beautiful sunset one would behold the sunset. I also love the way the NIV puts it because it literally is saying the old part of who I used to be has arrived and I no longer can reside in that old place, because the new is here!! What is amazing about becoming not only saved, but becoming a New Kreation and about a new stage of our life is that once new has arrived the old must go! Once people begin to see the new you they are not only seeing you they are beholding you! Something that is so remarkable and incredible in the transformation and power of Christ that they begin to wonder what is different about you now?
A great example of this when navigating to a location one can't possibly go forward and backwards, it's either you are traveling to the destination or traveling backward to go home. What's amazing about God is that the old self of who we used to be things we used to do is now transformed into something that Behold we can become! Although this change doesn't happen right away as the bible says we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Re-Newing letting us know that this process is continual. The thing about becoming a new Kreation is that God is always doing something new in our lives! No day is the same!
EVER!! How amazing is that that we have an opportunity to wake up and be something different, something better, something more productive, more creative, more wiser, more patient, more kind, less of pride and more of humility than they day before.
There is another scripture that comes to mind that I love and it simply says
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19. The NIV version says See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Once again we see that word "behold" such a beautiful word meaning feast your eyes upon what God is about to in your life, not what he did (be thankful for that) but Behold what he is about to do. Then it goes on to say it shall spring forth do you not perceive it?
That last verse is a question not a statement which lets us know that it is asking did you not know that when God stepped in that something knew wouldn't take place? Did you not know that God could take a horrible situation and turn it into something bearable? Did you not know that he sees your obedience and faithfulness in your marriage, in your finances, in your life? Then it goes on to see he is making a way in the wilderness. That means when you get lost out there in the wilderness God just gave you an instant GPS and showed you where to go next! Streams in the wasteland meaning where there seems to be DESERT AKA DESERTION people are gone left you are alone you don't have to be Thirsty for friends, Thirsty for likes, Thirsty for the approval of man, Thirsty for people to celebrate you! God has provided water in a wasteland! He is Aquafina, Fiji, Smart Water all wrapped into one. He is all of this physically and figuratively. Our friend when folks leave us!! Our cheerleader when no one is cheering us on! He loves all our post!! He stamps his approval on the next move because he created the pathway to allow the move to take place he is doing a NEW THING!! BEHOLD Christ is lighting up the path of darkness where when you say no way out he drops a map in your lap and shows you the way!!
Trust him, listen to him, follow him, act in obedience and watch him KREATE in your a new Kreature, Behold watch him Kreate and Kultivate a NEW THING, not only observe the new thing but be ready to get rid of the old things! New and Old cannot reside in the same place!! Make room for the NEW!! When old friends are gone, pray for God and watch God and Behold new friends will come!! The old job wasn't working out so make ready for God to bless you with something NEW behold a new job will come!! Everything may not go your way in the NEW THING, but trust God enough to say anyway you bless me I will trust and know that tomorrow will not be the same as today because BEHOLD God is doing a NEW THING!! Are you becoming that NEW THING!
